Home-made chocolate. Lesson no. 1: Why?

As a chocolate lover, you can never be too picky when the quality of your favourite dessert is concerned. That is why I believe it to be very important to know how to make your own, personalised chocolate bar. This way you can decide on the amount of sugar, milk, flavouring and, of, course, avoid everything unnatural. This way, the benefits of consuming cocoa should be maximized – because you don’t consume chocolate only for the flavour, don’t you? Well, most of us do, but why not have some benefits coming out of it, right? Just look at these benefits:

So, let’s start by buying raw cocoa beans and see how it goes!

Moelleux au chocolat and vanilla icecream

This is one of the yummiest, most chocolaty desserts a chocolate lover can wish for. Having home-made vanilla ice cream and some fruits and caramelized nuts next to it will guarantee a complete, posh dessert.

There are loads of moelleux au chocolat (lava-cake) recipes on the internet, my favorite one is the one linked here. The only difference is that I prefer the real chocolate liquor instead of ordinary 75% chocolate you can find in supermarkets:

Use them with confidence! These are the real chocolate things, so use them preciously.
As for the vanilla ice cream, promise to come back with the full recipe, but if you're a fan of custard, it will certainly be as easy as eating the final thing.

In the end, caramelize some nuts ( my choice was of walnuts and almonds) in 50g of caster sugar, leave them to cool on some parchment paper and then roughly cut them. Add the strawberries (or any other kind of sweet berries) and Voila! That's a nice Saturday dessert for you.

Promise to come back with personal versions and recipes - have a sweet weekend!
